Beneath Dark Skies – Iridescent – Coll 2
Photography
70cm x 100cm
This illuminated portrait is of Shiona Herbert, produced using long-exposure photography and fibre-optic light.
Photographed in Carnamah in North Midlands, Mid West of Western Australia and set against darkened skies, Shiona emerges as a luminous presence, a beacon of light within the surrounding darkness.
Part of a series called "Beneath Dark Skies" and photographed entirely at night, the work examines identity, diversity and inclusion, and on how community nurtures well-being and sustains the social fabric. When joined together, these threads engender strength and resilience.
