Beneath Dark Skies - Magnetic fields

👏 I am thrilled that my video artwork Beneath Dark Skies - Magnetic fields is part of the amazing artwork from 49 artists selected for the WA Regional Arts Triennial 3: Radical Futures Survey Exhibition.
A heartfelt thank you to Nyree, Tracey and Jade for the invitation of the Gardiner Street Collective group exhibition in Moora and the opportunity to bring all of us together on this journey. It’s been such an honour to exhibit alongside a talented and inspiring group of artists.
Nyree had briefed me over coffee on the idea of the Earth’s mysterious 26-second pulse – the geophysical rhythm and a magnetic vibration echoing through the planet’s body – I immediately fell in love with the project’s brief and the team involved with!
Beneath Dark Skies – Magnetic Fields is an illuminated landscape photographed at night in the Midwest North Midlands region inspired by the Earth’s mysterious 26-second pulse - a geophysical rhythm and a magnetic vibration echoing through the planet’s body. For those who live in deep relationship with Country, this pulse is the Earth breathing, the planetary heartbeat of a living world.
Under darkened skies, the landscape becomes a canvas of light, vibration, and connected threads. The work listens to the inaudible frequencies of the Earth, translating them into visible forms that remind us we are not separate observers, but participants in the planet’s living rhythm. We are one.
I want to thank each and everyone who has supported me along the way. 🤍
Congratulations to the dedicated team at Southern Forest Arts, working with support from ART ON THE MOVE. Project partners include John Curtin Gallery, GalleriesWest, Kimberley Arts Network, and Regional Arts WA.
